Very few people have an innate flair for stellar leadership, and often it has to be cultivated. In cases where an individual brings the spirit of support and mentorship to the table from the word go, the right environment can turn them into the kind of manager that gets the absolute best out of their team. Such leadership forms the basis of long-term success for an organization.

There is a lot more to managing than just delegating tasks and following up on their completion, and a well-versed leader knows that. The most important trait of a good leader is to be a team player as well. Only when they truly understand the competencies and capabilities of each member of the team can they properly utilize them and help people excel.

A good manager is just as invested in the personal and professional growth of his team members as they are in getting the job done. By cultivating a culture of mutual support and collaboration, Kinara Capital ensures that employees are able to deliver their full potential and even take up leadership roles in record time.

Ritesh’s Journey at Kinara

Ritesh Gupta joined Kinara in December 2019, and what made him decide to join the company is the mission to drive financial inclusion for small business entrepreneurs by providing them with collateral-free loans. He had worked in last-mile retail before, which made the transition smooth for him and enabled him to put his experience to good use.

Now, in the role of Divisional Business Head, he handles the entirety of  Maharashtra (North) and sales for Gujarat (North). He coordinates with 4 Regional Managers and 24 hub managers, overseeing the operations and helping scale up as the company grows. His role at Kinara has been all about ramping up sales and building increased capabilities, as the company grows, which he finds very exciting!

Best Experience Working at Kinara Capital

While Ritesh had joined Kinara’s Head Office as part of the Marketing team, he soon moved on to managing Sales in Mumbai, and he successfully helped settle the team and more than double the AUM of the region to over Rs. 100 crores. In Gujarat too, he helped up the AUM to an all-time high of over Rs. 11 crores in the last quarter.

The best part of his job is understanding his team and helping them flourish in their roles. As a sign of their appreciation for him as a manager, his team works especially hard to deliver on all the targets they are set.

He shares, “I’m a team player by nature, and I have the ability to understand the core competencies of each member of my team and focus on them to help them excel. My best experience as a leader so far has been witnessing the dedication, passion, and determination of my team to hit the target of Rs. 100 crores AUM. I’m grateful to Kinara for giving me the freedom to express my views and ideas, which has helped me deliver on my true potential.”
